“It’s never just about making cool visuals — it’s about creating impact, spreading inclusion, and building acceptance for people with disabilities.” ~ Rosa Ortiz Lane
When I worked with the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio (DSANEO), we didn’t have much of a budget — but that didn’t stop me. I rolled up my sleeves, dug into free design resources, and created short videos that spoke from the heart. My goal wasn’t to impress; it was to connect. Each clip told a piece of our story — families, love, and community — in a way that made people feel something.
And it worked. Even during the pandemic, when all fundraising had to happen online, those videos helped DSANEO surpass their 2021 goal. We raised over $190,000$190,000 — money that continues to support life-changing programs for people with Down syndrome in Northeast Ohio.
That’s the power of storytelling with purpose — turning creativity into compassion that moves people to act.
